RSS News Feeds
RSS is a great way to stay up to date with prefered news sources. An RSS feed
includes summaries, headlines, and great links to online news stories.
When you click a RSS link or button, you will be directed to the URL address
of that feed. You will see XML coding (eXtensible Markup Language). This is
natural since you will not be able to view RSS feeds through your browser .
These feeds are viewable through RSS Readers
What is RSS?
RSS allows you to decide what information you would like and have it delivered
to your desktop, rather than having to re-visit sites continually to keep track
of a new content.
Not all websites have RSS, but numbers are growing. We have developed our RSS
feed to enable you to keep in touch with new products added to our on-line shop
and any price changes.
How do I start using RSS feeds?
In order to use RSS feeds you need a news reader (or news aggregator). There
are a number of versions, but one we have used include Google and Feed Reader.
Some are browser based, others are downloadable applications. But they all achieve
the same end which is to allow you to display and subscribe to the RSS feeds
you are interested in. All you need to do in identify the RSS feed link-normally
ending with .xml extension and identified by an XML orange logo
.
How do I get a News Reader?
There are a range of different newsreaders available and new versions are appearing
all the time. Different newsreaders work on different operating systems, so
you will need to take this into account when you make your choice.
